Day two of my viewing Heather’s treatment protocols and things are starting to fall into place.  I have listened and watched the DVD’s and they too are starting to make sense.  The processes used are becoming familiar such as checking for cold, cup on the navel and checking meridians dependant on key signs and symptoms.  Most patients receive both back and front treatments and no-one gets off the table until they have a butt massage and lymphatic drainage.  Treatments really do depend on the 8 extra meridian under scrutiny.  Lots more to learn, an exciting time!

To watch a master work is beyond the scope for most these days.
Any who are still about are unlikely to be found within the hallowed halls of tertiary education

This leaves little pockets about where those like myself who have sat at the feet of masters and who have been quietly honing their own brand of what works - can occasionally shed some light on the practice and the art of being in the energy of another's suffering.

Possibly this is where we lost the way - trying to become 'professional'.
If we ourselves stopped and pondered about what we needed in our darkest hour - it was probably not what could be found in any text.

We all have spirit, we all suffer and we all bleed.
What we may have lost in setting ourselves up to help others, is the humanity/humility and the ability to FEEL.

I have put this section forwards on this site to show that it is very attainable FOR ALL to replicate what I teach.
I have been well aware for decades now of the chasm between what is needed for safe and effective and useful clinical practice and what graduates come out of college with.
Why is there SUCH a discrepancy?
We all have our theories.

As one who has been involved in creating/writing and teaching all levels of real acupuncture - not academic versions - for nearly  30 years I have taken on the challenge of offering a heart centred and practical, easily followed and easily replicable version of clinical effectiveness.

It is transferable to any situation - just by following what it feels like - to be a person - and suffering YOURSELF

Through reading the observations of those who have gone through the four year full time uni courses - and who may well have been to China, you may see what to do to help yourself help others differently.

What the 'apprentices' glean from watching someone who dances the dance with the patients and who has daily for decades . .

Monday 12^th April 2010.

First time attending clinic and the place was buzzing with patients! In, out, on the phone, reading material from the Ebooks suite and waiting, drinking an Endura magnesium drink, or on the table being treated!  It was busy, confronting and here was Heather at the centre of every activity, so harmoniously and calmly fixing “the broken bits”, dispensing herbs and other stuff before getting back to some very personalised and individualised treatments.  Welcome to Healing on Hawthorne!

Heather treated a large number of patients all with wide ranging conditions from Diabetes, to late stage pregnancy; some were trying to get pregnant and some had a history of a debilitating auto immune disease.  I did not expect to see changes on the tongue in just one treatment.  Whilst at college we were told not to expect it.  Disregard that statement!  I saw quite dramatic changes on at least two tongues before the patient turned over for the front treatment!  Amazing!  Would never have believed it had I not seen it for myself!

Whilst I had no idea of what the patient was in for or their history, Heather managed to explain her treatment to the patient in a simple and easy to understand manner.  She checked meridians, master points, mu and xi cleft points, stuck a few points in then checked the tongue and points again.  She did front and back treatments, cups, plenty of moxa and massage.  Every single person got off the table regardless of how long it took and felt better, success rate of 100%.  I just yearn to learn as much as I possibly can from this amazing woman.  She has already taught me to put needles in unusual points and places where you wouldn’t ordinarily put them, with an amazing, positive effect.  Every scar was treated, just as most patients had a belly wincing lymphatic drainage massage, almost brought tears to my eyes!

Needless to say I spent a sleepless and restless night, it was confronting, but also incredibly exciting to witness and I am so very excited about my growing list of questions about the cases she saw.  Can’t wait for my next session!
